Academic and research units
In order to carry out the teaching and research it has entrusted, the University organize in teaching centers, departments, institutes, laboratories, centers and research groups.
The departments coordinate and organize the degree and postgraduate education of one or more knowledge areas, also the research activities in its field. The institutes are dedicated to scientific and technical research in a more concrete knowledge field.
The university recognizes as such the groups and specific research centers. These may also be recognized by the Generalitat of Catalunya.
