Master in Nuclear Energy students from ETSEIB UPC won the "I4N EUROPE 2023"

Simone Albanese, Camilla Castaldo (both from InnoEnergy Programme), together with Luis de Juan Carbonell and Francisco Hernán Justel Pizarro form the winning “Core Team”.

  • The second edition of the Innovation European contest took place in Krakow, Poland, on May 7th and 8th 2023. - Innovation for Nuclear (I4N) Europe - at the European Nuclear Young Generation Forum (ENYGF 2023).
  • The purpose of the Innovation Contest is to encourage the emergence of new and innovative nuclear technologies, applications, or systems and even the creation of start-ups, within multidisciplinary teams. The contest also gives a platform for the visibility and discussion of these ideas and catalyze young energy into thinking about and creating innovative solutions.
  • Winners of selected national nuclear innovation contests applied to attend I4N Europe. After winning the Spanish contest last March,  the team composed by students of the UPC Master in Nuclear Energy defended its innovation proposals in front of a jury of experts from the nuclear industry.
  • In this finals, celebrated in Poland, the UPC "Core Team" defeated the French, Polish and Hungarian winners with their proposal "Achieving flexibility in existing NPPs with latent heat storage”.
