GR (Grups de recerca) - Research groups
Their goal is the basic organization of team research and their result transmission to the society within the university itself.

CER (Centres Específics de Recerca) - Specific research centers
they have the primary function of responding to demands from public or private external entities in specific fields of research.

SGR (Grups de Recerca reconeguts per la Generalitat) - Research groups recognized by the Generalitat
They are research groups of universities and public and private non-profit centers, whose main activity is research and knowledge transfer. Recognized by the Generalitat of Catalunya in order to promote its development or consolidation.

TECNIO Centers
They belong to the "Xarxa Centres de Suport a la Innovació Tecnològica" (network centers of support to technological innovation), a network that indentifies technology centers and university groups that are experts in industrial research and technology transfer in Catlunya.
