Which modality can I pursue?

Before starting your international internship mobility stay, you will have to decide on the modality. Remember that you will not be able to recognize extracurricular internships as curricular internship credits.

Curricular Internships

  • They are part of the study plan and allow you to earn credits.
  • They are mandatory in some master's degrees.
  • They give you the opportunity to apply your knowledge in a real professional environment.
  • Consult the minimum duration they must have according to your degree summary table.

Extracurricular

  • They are not part of the study plan, but they allow you to gain experience and complement your training.
  • The minimum duration cannot be less than 180 hours.

Extracurricular + Final Project (TFE)

  • You can carry out your TFE in a company while doing an internship.
  • The training project of the internship and the TFE project must be related.
  • The Internships will be considered curricular and will be supervised by the TFE director.

Curricular + TFE

  • Agreement that encompasses curricular internships and the TFE within the framework of international internships.

Do I have to take out mobility insurance?

To guarantee the safety and well-being of the student during the international internship stay, it is mandatory to take out mobility insurance. This insurance must cover aspects such as medical assistance, personal accidents, repatriation, and other potential risks that may arise during your stay abroad.

Enrolment in mobility includes the mandatory subscription to an insurance policy for all students with international mobility.

The cost of the policy will depend on the destination. For more information, you can consult the website of the International Relations Office (Gabinet de Relacions Internacionals).

IMPORTANT! Students going to USA/Canada must take out their policy directly on the OnCampus  website and upload it to e-Secretaria before formalizing their mobility enrolment (the amount will not be charged to the UPC enrolment).
