External Academic Internships
External academic internships are an important training element for the UPC and have a great value in the training of future professionals that society is asking for and contributes to the improvement of their employability.

General Procedure of the External Internships.
General criteria:
- Minimum remuneration: 8€/hour
- Maximum hours to be performed daily as a general rule:
- 4 hours/day students with number of ECTS enrolled around 30 ECTS or more.
- 5 hours/day students with number of ECTS enrolled under 30 ECTS.
- Exceptions:
- Curricular internships + FINAL PROJECT without enrolled subjects: maximum 8 hours/day.
- Extracurricular internships from July 1 to September 15: maximum 8 hours/day.
- Curricular internships are not authorized from July 1 to September 15.
- Proposal of dates of the agreement: When determining the start date of the agreement, take into account that it must be at least 15 days from the moment the company selects you. These dates may be modified by the center, depending on the time used by the actors involved in the preparation of the agreement (company, tutors, students and university). No internship can be started without the signed agreement.

Modalities of external internships
You must decide the type of internship before the start of the internship. You will not be able to recognize extracurricular internships as curricular internship credits. As well as you will not be able to add the the final projetc to a curricular internship agreement once you have started. You must make the decision on the type of internship at the time of requesting them:Curriculars
Configured as academic activities that are part of the curriculum. They have the same consideration as any other subject of the university
Extracurricular
They have the same training purpose as curricular internship but are not part of the curriiculum of the academic record, although the will be incorporated into de European Diploma Supplement. They must be directly related to the contents of the curriculum. The minimum duration cannot be less than 180 hours.
Final Project of Studies (TFE)
The final project can be developed whithin the framework of external internships. The training project of the internships an the project of realization of the final project of studies must be coincident. The internships will be tutored by the final project director.

Agreement that includes the recognition of credits for curricular internships and the completion of the final project within the framework of external internships.

Intership Exchange
Access the la Internship Exchange Internship Exchange where companies publish the internship offers they have available.
Register and update your profile, choose the type of internship you want to do and search, among the published offers, those that fit your interests to present your application.
If you find an internship outside the Internships Exchange, the company must also register the offer on the Internships Exchange.

Validation of data from the Educational Cooperation Agreement
Once the company selects you, the system automatically registers the data related to the agreement in yours e-Secretaria, where you will have to access to validate the registered data and/or provide new data in the section "Internships in Business":
- Company tutor
- Modality of the practices
- NAF (Social Security Affiliation Number)
- Schedule and place where the internship will be held
- Number of hours
- Company order number
- Observations
Once you have completed the data, we will review them, assign an academic tutor and validate the agreement.

Formative Project
Once the company's tutor is indicated, the system sends you an email because, through the company internship portal , propose on Formative Project to be done.

Once the UPC tutor validates the Training Project, the agreement can start the signature circuit.

Signing of the Educational Cooperation Agreement
First of all, the legal representative of the host institution will sign the agreement by e-mail, and must return it, digitally signed, through the same channel.
Student, you'll sign it later, through, Portafirmes by numbering your UPC card or any of the other recongnized digiltal certificates.
Finally, and also through the Portafirmes, it will be the Director of the ETSEIB who will proceed to the signing.
All parties are informed and receive a copy of the agreement signed by all of them via email.
IMPORTANT - When the Educational Cooperation Agreement is signed by all parties, it is when academic internships can be started, NOT BEFORE.
Enrolment of Internships
If you have chosen a Curricular, Final Project or Curricular + Final Project modality, we will generate a proposal for a enrolment plan so that you can enrol the corresponding credits on the assigned day of enrolment.
IMPORTANT - If you have passed the enrolment period, or have enrolled for a subject or the final project, we will modify your ex officio enrolment from the SIAE by adding the corresponding credits to the internship.
If you have chosen the extracurricular modality, the recognition will go directly to the SET (European Diploma Supplement) once the internship have been evaluated.
Evaluation of Internships
The initial interview with the UPC tutor, the follow-up and evaluation of the internship is carried out in the ETSEIB External Internships Intranet. These are the steps to follow:
- Initial interview (curricular only)
- Follow-up
- Student survey
- Delivery of Report/Memory (curricular only)
- Company Evaluation
- UPC tutor survey (curricular only)
- Oral presentation (curricular only) and academic evaluation
Once the assessment has been carried out, we will introduce the recognition to your file and it will be closed if they are the last pending credits of the degree.
Educational cooperation agreements end when the internship is completed or when the academic record is closed and your link with the UPC ends,
In the event of renouncement of curricular internships, these will be evaluated as Not Presented or Suspended and the ECTS corresponding to a new educational cooperation agreement will be repayed. The operation is similar to the enrolment and evaluation of any subject.
